Biocep Has developed an improved method of separation of immuno-magnetic marked cells. Its patented Cell Enrichment Process (CEP) can be applied in numerous medical processes, bringing exceptional benefits to each. Biocep will market consumable kits suitable for use with its advanced system, as well as the system itself, to labratories, in various medical fields where Biocep's system will become the preferred method of cell separation, due to its superiorty.
The CEP isolates desired cells or removes undesired cells from various clinical sources, such as, bone marrow, peripheral blood, neonatal cord blood, pleural, peritoneal and cerebrospinal fluids. The system incorporates strong magnets and a metal frame, which form a closed magnetic circuit, that directs the magnetic flux lines to three active air gaps, and silicon tubing through which the specimen flows.

The specimen undergoes incubation where the desired cells are marked with paramagnetic microbeads attached to specific antibodies. The undesired cells remain unmarked. As the specimen and a physiological liquid flow through the silicon tubing in the system the desired cells are held in stasis by the magnetic flux lines while the non-targeted cells pass through the system and out of it. The cells do not come in contact with any foreign objects or abrading surfaces, while undergoing separation, so they are unharmed and retain their original properties.

Biocep’s technology yields larger, purer and less damaged cell populations in comparison with existing technologies. It is these unparalleled capabilities that will allow BioCep entrance to many new fields that currently have no commercial solution for cell separation, despite the acute need for such.
