A new minimal invasive and safe treatment for Fistula. Fistula is a pathological tube that drains an internal abscess in the human body through the skin surface.   This tube is infected and partially blocked by pus, fractured cells and gangrenous tissue.  The most common location for Fistula is in the rectal area.
With currently available methods, treatment for this problem is aggressive surgery which requires general anesthesia and several days of hospitalization.   There is a high risk level of serious complications, such as loss of control of the sphincter.

Market
The estimated annual market for this technology, for first two applications (Perianal fistula and Crohn's Disease fistulas) is over USD 750 million, for the US, Western Europe and Japan.

Technology
ResQ is developing a product that will treat many types of Fistula, even very complicated cases, without the need for general anesthesia and hospitalization. The device is intended for single use and looks like a catheter, making it possible to heal Fistula with a high rate of success, under local anesthesia only and in a non-surgical environment.   The suggested clinical procedure is safe for the patient, and even in the event that the procedure is not successful, it can be performed again, with short patient recovery time. The device is made of silicone rubber and produced via technologies that are common practice in the medical world.
The technology is protected by US patent granted.
